Love your walking stick pics. We have brown ones here. Walkingsticks are in the Order Phasmatodea, whereas mantids are in the Order Dictyoptera, which is also the same order as ****GASP!!!!****......​. ROACHES!

MJ - the mantis looks similar to the ones i shot in Virginia (i dont know ID either). also found some here in FL on the Egans Creek Greenway! postum later
