So as you may have guessed from my title, these are a few frames from my second attempt at maternity pics. The first was for my sister a bit over a year ago. The subject here is a young lady that I went to high school with (well elementary, junior high, and high school really), who, via the grape vine of a small town heard that my baby sis's pics came out well. So she called me. But I am curious to hear opinions. Just know also, I dont have a studio, light kit OR a flash outside of my built in (which i normally emphatically refuse to use cause I HATE it). I shot it all in her living room, with natural light from the window and a few extra 40watt lights here and there. So yes, I know there are some big light issues.

I love the third one. The second is cute as well. These seem very noisy, though. Next time, try to use some more light-- you could have taken her outside even, if you weren't getting enough light inside (though I wouldn't do the topless shots in front of the whole neighboorhood )

I think they look pretty good...Like the other posters have said...there is some noise in the photos...adding some extra light will help...but I think you did a nice job :)

Unfortunately we couldn't really go outside to do some stuff. She wanted all of it to be very intimate pictures but had this crazy idea that she didn't want to put on a show for the whole neighborhood. The noise level really bugs me, but i printed the middle one and it actually wasn't as bad in print as i expected. thanks for your coments

The second shot is beautiful, but as stated before the noise is pretty bad.

I'd like to know what you shot them with (Kit Lens I assume) and I'd like to know your EXIF as well. Do you shoot in manual? I think you already know that technically these images have a lot of issues, BUT I am sure you can learn to create really lovely images. It seems like you have a creative eye, you just need to master the technical side.

I am super cool n' stuff.

I like #2, noise and all... gives it and old grainy feel. She is a beautiful Mom to be.

I acctually shot it with the kit lens off my film rebel that is about eight years old. I got it in high school, then as a college student found it to be a much too expensive habit and it sat on a shelf until about two and a half years ago. When I upgraded to digital a little over a year ago, bought body only of my xti. Thank you for the eye comment. The vast majority of what i know is self taught. I only seem to have major dissatisfaction when i have to shoot indoors. I would tell you what my EXIF was if i knew what that was... sorry.

Well it started out that way, but then the sun started going down so used about 10 desk lamps with 40watt bulbs. I have done it before with nothing but the sun through a window and had it work out great.... so long as there is enough sun.
