Sophia & Mike - My First Wedding Ever!

I'm so exciting to be finally getting to post my "First Wedding" post here on POTN!! Whoo hoo!

I've spent so much time on here in the past two years to finally progress to shooting my very first wedding. I sopped up as much knowledge as I could from the seasoned and not-so-seasoned wedding photogs on here... so here we go!

I shot this wedding this past weekend on a pretty hot and humid day... those of you from the Toronto/Southern Ontario area know what I mean! It was a long day but it was a lot of fun and I can't wait until I shoot my next wedding in August! I was lucky enough that Sophia's a friend of mine who gave me my first break! She's so low-key that there was hardly any pressure at all throughout the day!

Any C&C is definitely appreciated! I'm already making notes from this wedding to see where I can improve for my next, so bring it on!

These are beautiful, Jenne! No one would ever know it was your first wedding! I love #5... very cute n fun! And #6 is a beautiful shot of her!

Well whatever else you've been shooting it sure prepared you for this. The work is simply excellent all-around. You've got good emotion, lots of focus on the bride, effective use of DoF without going crazy, good use of natural light...

I had trouble coming up with a criticism but I found one... it looks like most of these crops are full frame, meaning not much cropping done. That is great to get nice results right out of the camera but the problem I see is that many would have trouble cropping to an 8 x 10 ratio as the frame is too full.

Thanks for your comments! Getting shots by the ice cream truck was a lot of fun... all weddings should come with ice cream trucks!

For the compliments above... you really did just make me blush... thanks so much for that. And for the criticism... awesome and much appreciated! I will definitely have to remember to take that into account when I frame my shots... I would've found out the hard way at the printers... eek!

Just fantastic!!! How long have you been shooting? I don't mean weddings. Your pictures are framed perfectly and exposure/lighting is perfect. You have a very bright future ahead of you.
