I took the plunge and bough a new Canon 580. Its a very nice flash. I set it to ETTL, with FEC +/_ 1 stop. It worked great. I had a stofen type diffuser on it. I think the flash may be a bit on the harsh side. Please let me know if it is. Thanks for looking.

Excellent set, especially the last shot. #1 looks like it has a bit too much contrast, although having said that, I'm on an uncalibrated monitor at the moment, so take that comment with a grain of salt ;)

nice shots. i like the crab spider , and the fly best.
seems like the last two are a bit harsh..but i dont have a good monitor.
