The crab spider with greenbottle

Well its still in the garden and at some point this afternoon it nabbed this fly - lucky for the spider it didnt get one of the hovers.

why was it lucky for the spider that it didnt get a hover?i bet hovers are there favorite.:)

'cos Linda would have rescued it! Blow flies have no human allies. Very good shot by the way.

Cos hovers are cute - flies are not , but I will concede that 'bottles' are pretty lol.

LOL Toby, you are so right - I did actually consider checking to see if the fly was still alive and I thought better of it, because I would rather it ate flies than the hovers lol.

Thanks - yeah, I know I do feel guilty keeping the spider there but its got to go somewhere even if I move it and I cant justify killing it as there are hundreds of spiders in our garden, all doing a similar thing.
