This isn't with a Macro lens per se so it might be in the wrong place, but it's with a 50mm 1.4 and a close up filter which lets you get close to things. Obviously it's no 100mm Macro lens but I think it came out ok!

You must have steady hands, i have just bought the 100, 2.8 & i am trying to work without a tripod:eek:.

Thanks! Wasn't using any support but my hands. Little guy sat there for a good five minutes, so was able to take about 30 shots. But incredible to see all of his detail like that. Although I didn't stop whingeing about the need for a Macro lens which SWMBO wasn't happy about! :)

Not bad at all, but you could get more dof by using a smaller aperture. I see you used AE mode which gave an aperture of F6.3, so what you could do is either try Av mode and try F8 or 9 but obviously watch the shutter speed, or go Manual and use F9 or F11, shutter speed of 200 and ISO 100 or 200, or even try Tv mode and set shutter speed to 200 and see what aperture that produces.
