Okay!! Just got off the phone with the company..there is definitely a difference in cameras! It is the 1DS Mark III but the difference is the camera body is PLASTIC, short life battery, and no battery charger.
Their USA model is 6,999.00
apparently there are some crummy japanese cameras out there....lol

Yea, this is about the oldest trick in the book, well, not that old but very common. It started popping up when this SLR craze began, and everyone wants an SLR for P&S prices, yet none of them know anything about SLRs. Just report that business to your state (if it's in your state, else check where and report it), and stay a mile way from them.

Their main thing is to sell you the "plastic version", and then offer an upgrade to metal one for a large margin over the street price. If you choose to stay with the "plastic" one, they either put you on indefinite hold, cancel your order (few do this), or just take your money and run (many do this).

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

a) All Canon cameras are Japanese
b) If you honestly believe anything that company says then frankly, you deserve to be scammed. There is only one version of the 1Ds Mark III (regardless of where it sold or originates) and it isn't plastic...

No, there are not crummy japanese camera knock offs out there, it's crummy scammers from New York.

It all started as a hobby with a Rebel XT & KIT lens. $5K worth of equipment & $0 of income later, all I have to show for it is a harddrive full of pictures and priceless memories!! Yeah it's still worth it :)
