I can't find the threads explaining how to change the XT metadata (owner information). Could someone please tell me or point me in the right direction? I thought it was done through the Canon software but I couldn't figure out how. :o

I don't think you can do that with the Rebel series. I could be wrong though.

With Xti (400D) it's done via the EOS Utility software that's supplied with the camera. I'm guessing the Xt (350D) will be the same.

Maybe. My 300D software didn't include EOS Utility and the owner name was changed using FileViewer.exe. My 30D uses EOS Utility. The 350D was a while back, maybe it's supposed to use FileViewer also.

JM, what's on your software CD?

It came with EOS utility and Digital Photo Professional. In the EOS utility opening screen there is a button that says 'Camera Settings/Remote Shooting'. I clicked that and looked at the options, but there didn't appear to be any way to alter what the camera has.

Where is it for the other cameras?

After you've clicked on 'Camera Settings/Remote Shooting' you should get the screen come up showing all the camera settings. In the bottom right hand corner is the tools option depicted by a spanner / hammer icon (I think). Click on this and the option to edit the users name is there.

That worked. The problem before was apparently that my battery was low and the software won't let you do that with a low battery indicator.

Thank you all for your help.
