I'm not a big people photographer but my niece and nephew visited Florida this week. I managed to get over to see them on Saturday for a brief visit. I haven't seen my niece since she was in diapers. I may be biased, but she's turning into quite a cutie if you ask me.

Really nice shot. My only suggestion would be to take some of the pink out of the whites in her eyes.

Thank you for the nice compliments.

imchillindave - thank for the great tip/suggestion. Yah, her eyes were pretty red from swimming & her rubbing them (her goggle kept filling up with water). I'll see what I can't do to remove the pinkness that's displayed in the photo.

It's just not fair that we don't all have bright shinny eyes like hers. Wow!

Great shot. Your close in the second version with her eyes.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.

As locky said, you're close. The technique I've found best for editing eye whites is to select them in PS and then create a Hue/Saturation layer with my selection as the layer mask. Then I'll go in and simply desaturate them until they look correct. All other methods I have tried will make the whites too bright and look awkward, but by simply removing most of the color from them, they remain a normal brightness and turn back to white. Then edit the layer mask to brush your adjustment off the eye color and eyelids. A Wacom tablet is your best friend for this.
