Camera Addict is offering a 40D body for $737. Looks pretty low.
Is that store good one?
Thanks

OK, I'll stay away from that price. Can someone tell me what price range I should look at for a 'safe' 40D purchase, or perhaps the sellers I can trust.
I haven't seen many good words about a 'kit' lens, so I'm looking for the body only.
Thanks

Look at the price from B&H Photo, Adorama, Amazon.com. That's your safe range.

Both of the kit lenses are decent... not great lenses, but they have the stigma of being a 'kit lens' and that disqualifies them for many people without good reason. The 24-105L suffers the same... many people who bought it with a 5D didn't even bother trying them and just sold them off.

The 28-135 can be sold for about $300, so if you buy the kit, you can actually end up getting the body for less than if you bought it alone.

Those guys would probably sell you the camera body for that price - and then add in a battery, charger, strap, software, canles, etc. for additional cost. Unfortunately, that is a pretty standard practice for those types of vendors.
