A beautiful building and a great shot of it. I love the HDR effect. Are these a crop and the original? Or two shots at different zooms?

Looks like a great subject, unfortunately for me the hdr effect makes the result look like a cartoon of a drawing. :(

They are shot at two different zooms. I was trying to give it a "stuckincustoms" type of HDR look.

I did notice the two different shots after looking closely at the position of the clouds. Are they single shots HDR's or did you get like 3 to work with? But I love the effect. No, it's not real color, but it's still a very striking image anyway. :)

I should clarify perhaps, I love all types of art and it's not that I don't like this image and some of the images like this, just that I feel they are more art than a representation of nature in it's natural beauty and to me that is the core of the various fourms here, particularly the Landscape fourm. For me when an image is manipulated even as little as this one, it moves from the realm of photography into the realm of art because it is the manipulation of the image that becomes more prevalent in that final result than the natural beauty of reality on which it is based. Sure, it's a fine line and it varies from person to person......but....

I'm guess I'm beginning to think (as Mitch has suggested) that we need a separate forum for photo-manipulations (HDRs, over-saturations, experimentation) etc. This is what some forums do -- some very strict about the differentiation. Images I wouldn't say fit completely in the Experimental forum either though so maybe we need a new Photo-Manipulated Forum. Some here seem very passionate about HDR etc. So I'd bet there would be interest and possible moderators, etc.

I can see a definate need for an all HDR forum, whatever the subject. It has become so popular everywhere, that it would be a huge draw here at POTN. I know I would hang out in it. :)

It's obviously a well done piece of work, it just doesn't look like a photograph. YMMV.
