It's a warning light letting you know that after Sept 17th your 5D will become a useless piece of junk.;)

Sadly yes. When my 5D stopped working on the last day of my trip to Italy.

With the battery in and turned 'on' I would get partial info on the top LCD panel and that little print button blue light. Other than those signs of life the camera was dead.

Turned out the circuit board was fried and with the battery in the bottom left side of my camera would get extremely hot.

Canon repaired free of charge even though it was 3 months out of warranty.

Is yours working but just given you the cyborg light?

Well, I thought you just noticed that your camera has a direct print button, which would have been odd enough in itself, but I guess this a bit more of a mystery.

Hey! You actually found a use for the Direct Print button! Set phaser to stun, point the back of the camera at the target, press the button, remove your finger within two seconds (or lose it), and pow! Right on:)!

I see the print button light up (for an instant) every time i hit the image playback button to bring the camera out of a sleep state. The camera hasn't self destructed yet.

Seems like the print button lights up when my 40D is tethered to the computer...

Every time you make that thing light up, a little light goes on at Canon HQ and while that light stays on they won't swap the DP button for a MLU button.

I hope you're happy. ;)
