"hooo that is a very protective canon customer ... Troll ... yes sure, whatever. I shoot Canon if you want to know. What is the opposite of Troll? Canon fanatic? well yes i think that is what some people around here are.
If you trust Canon split design to old water, well be my guest. Why is it so hard for canon to put Sealings!!!! I ll tell you: MARKETING: 1D pro series have it, dont put it on other bodies. that is what canon is thinking (https://photography-on-the.net/forum/...d.php?t=570617 rumors? or else ...).
Now i can understand you are happy with this (one more time) incremental weather sealing upgrade. Some people are easily satisfied even when it come to drop 3000 buck in a camera. Now, are you happy with the prehistoric AF and not-exactly-new sensor? and the rest of the camera in general? honestly, I am not thrilled at all by canon performances, and for this reason only i am more enclined to bash canon than to find excuses to their lousy development politics. that is all. Now if you think i am a troll, then i am. But you will see a growing number of us now. So get on with it."

it is apparently very hard for canon to put sealing on the mark II.

gee, i don't see seals anywhere! lol. i trust canon people who have tested the seals, whereas you obviously haven't. why would they state their claim of 10mm/3min if it wasn't backed? 10mm/3min is pretty hard (harder than extreme rain according to wikipedia) rain, so i would expect this camera to work if that is what Canon, who made and tested the camera, claims.
prehistoric AF...instead of whining maybe you should make the effort to get your questions answered? this person at dpreview did by asking Canon Tech reps...

"They described the AF as being 9 points of cross sensors with the center sensor having another cross at 45 degrees so it has 8 arms."
this is my understanding of the AF:
original
9 main/6 assist
1 cross type (center)
1 f/2.8 sensitive
digic II
mark II
9 main/6 assist
9 cross type
3 f/2.8 sensitive (1 main, 2 assist)
digic 4
i see improvement, and i will wait until reviews to see if it works in practice.
