If a new version is needed for the 5D II, I imagine it will be included with the camera. :)

Well, we can hope DPP evolves. I find it pretty frustrating to use in it's present form. GRRRRRRRR that stupid color wheel thingy sucks the big wazoo. A simple slider please.

It's not gonna evolve. Like Canon, they play it safe and it'll basically the same thing, but with some small improvements. like the 5DII's name. I was lol-ing every time I heard 3D/7D mentioned... I knew they weren't going to do that, come on!

Hmmmmm, interesting Rene, I'm so used to ACR that the color wheel makes me nuts. The color temp and tint sliders make sense to me, the wheel doesn't. Another reason I'm not fond of DPP is it takes forever to process an image, ACR is a lot faster.

The wheel givess an overall view, just to get you in the ball park.
Fine adjustment can be made using the numeric values to the right of it.
A bit like sliders...

I think I've seen reference to DPP 3.5 somewhere among the new product announcements. It may be required to take advantage of one or more of the new features of the 5D or 50D. Likely to be posted by Canon about a month after the new cameras appear on the market, if past history is a guide.

I find the wheel more intuitive, the sliders more "technical".

I can work with both.

DPP also has a slider: for "Color tone" by the way ;)

Just read the following on Galbraith's site, in his review/preview of the 5DMkII or the 50D (can't remember which ...):

"In addition to support for the new camera's RAW files, Digital Photo Professional 3.5 adds AF point display, Auto Lighting Optimizer controls, finer control of noise reduction (the NR slider has expanded from 11 to 21 steps), greater carryover of EXIF metadata into converted files and support for 25 additional lenses in the lens aberration correction function (for a total of 82 supported lenses)."
