Mirrors often have that effect...

So I did miss something, namely mention of a mirror.:confused::confused:

Uh, the dude is taking his own picture with his own camera.

How would you attempt that challenge?

EDIT: you're kidding, right?

Perhaps the confusion is coming from the OP's stating he took the picture with his laptop camera? The OP didn't say he took his photo in a mirror, yet it's backwards... hence Bob's question of why the image is backwards...

That is correct. I thought he took the shot with a webcam. And I do know that mirrors reverse the image. Sometime in my first 59 years I learned that. Thanks for getting me off the hook, Tom.

KEH lists the 30D at $725 and the 40D at $895 (both LN). That's a difference of less than $200! I'm thinking of upgrading from my 400D. Would the 40D be a significantly better choice?

As a 30D owner I'd say the 40D is worth the extra $170 for the improved autofocus if nothing else. That would of course depend on what you're shooting. I shoot mainly sports where I could really use the better autofocus. If you're shooting mainly still life, then it may not be worth it to you. There are the other differences in the 40D such as 2 more MP, a 3" LCD, sensor cleaning, 6.5 fps and the Digic III processor that might make the difference for you. I wouldn't upgrade from a 30D to a 40D, but if it came down to a choice between the two, I'd definitely go with the 40D.

LOL! Agreed. I remember you wanting to sell your Xti because it was too small for your hands... The 30D is pretty dwarfed in those hands... wholy big hands man... I'm assuming you'll be getting a grip

Congrats on the new camera!

Right you are. He did say the pic was from his webcam.

Sorry! :o
