Ok, thanks. He was on sentry duty and marching towards me quite quickly. I used AI Focus on my 40D while I manually pulled the zoom ring on my 17-85mm lens and had to frame it fast. I was in high-speed continuous shooting mode and grabbed what I could. Anyway, thanks for the feedback.

Not at all. I shoot RAW and post-process using Lightroom 2 currently. It's based on a technique that Chris Orwig of Layers Magazine calls "pseudo-HDR" and you can see a video about it here

I'm not sure what it is, but I really like the first one. The one of the boy imo would look better with just a bit more room on the left of the photo, not cutting off his back. The 2nd just makes me giggle, although I do agree with the poster who mentioned a different crop on that one.
In the one of the boy and his day, it was their faces that I wanted to capture but thanks for the feedback.
