What Wide Angle Lens

Im looking to get a wide angle lens for my canon 400d. I been told that sigman 10-20 is a good one. i have about £300 to spend can you guys help.

I purchased the Sigma 10-20mm about one month ago for my 30D, and for me it's 100% and I couldn't be happier with it, and a lot less money than the Canon.

I'd also recommend the 10-20 - provided you don't (or won't ever) want to use it on a full-frame camera. if you do/might/will, then the Sigma 12-24 is the only option for full-frame coverage in that focal range.

If 12 is wide enough for you on a crop body and you like the idea of a constant f/4 through out the zoom range and you like a buiild similar to an L...take a look at the the Tokina 12-24 f/4.

The biggest drawback is that it is recommended _only_ for crop bodies. Even though physically it will work on the 5D gen I it vignettes till about 19mm. So if you move on to FF...you would lose about 1/2 your range.
