Now keep in mind that I only began repurchasing photo equipment in June of 2008 (today being mid/early-October 2008) since all of my gear was stolen over a year ago. All I was left with was a Canon film body & 50mm f/1.8 lens, oh & let's not forget the ever-useful Roscolux Swatch Book... so since I had previously sold all my darkroom equipment I was kind of "SOL" as they say... I very much need lighting equipment so after the arrival of the 1DM3 that's where all of my budget will be going, then 2 or 3 lenses & a large printer will hopefully round out my kit enough that I can start paying for the less important things in life, like food & electric bills and that always-nagging landlord (like he really needs my money "EVERY" month, hmmmph).

Since my emphasis is on "photojournalism" & "editorial" genres that should explain some of my choices to you. Currently I'm not "well known" enough to choose my jobs so I do have to do a little bit of everything. Obviously shooting interiors of the rich snobby neighborhoods while daydreaming about war photography isn't exactly my favorite thing to do, but it pays the bills. Same goes for shooting school portraits & the like.
I am definitely still expanding my kit though & most of my money will be going to lighting equipment & long glass (I need 1 or 2 more Speedlites, Light Stands, Softboxes/Umbrellas, Pocket Wizard's, a Large Format Printer, a 1D Mark III (which is coming soon) Body & a 300mm f/2.8 for sure, anything else will have to wait until after that. This is all stuff I had before & therefore I am now a total posterboy for equipment insurance since all my stuff got swiped, please get yourself some, it's not "that" expensive & if you ever need it there is no words that can explain how grateful you will be that you have it).
