What, from your actual personal experience, do you consider to be the best "landscape" lens for a crop camera, and why?
Thanks.

The range is the most needed for landscape work, the lens is very sharp with great color, contrast and flare resistance. My personal stuff:http://www.flickr.com/photos/jngirbach/sets/

I haven't done a survey of the whole range of options, but my 17-40L is to my mind the perfect landscape lens for a 30D. Though people may believe other lenses to be sharper, the difference must be small because my 17-40 is very sharp indeed. Mark.

I would certainly not find and ultra wide like the 10-22, or even worse 11-16 an ultimate landscape lens. but again, you may like the wider end or longer end. there is no right or wrong landscape focal length. So it is not exactly a wide angle as opposed to the 10-22mm. I think the 17-40L is a nice lens. But for landscapes, the 10-22efs is stunning. Vancouver Portrait Photographer
