Xti here also... 2 an 4 Gb memory cards Shoot RAW unless there is some reason not to. Can't think of a reason though. Once you get the workflow for RAW it becomes more of a pain to change back.

I used to do nothing but JPEGs but after I got a good photo editing program (Aperture) I never looked back. Ya, RAW files are huge but memory cards are getting really cheap and the quality of my PPed pics are so much better with RAW. 5D Mark II | Rebel XTi | 17-40 f/4L | 70-200 f/4L| 24-105 f/4L | 50 f/1.2L | 85 f/1.8 | 50mm f/1.8|430EXII

So what can you do with RAW versus a post-processed jpeg? Still a newbie here. Canon 7D | 50 1.4 | 17-55 IS | 10-22 | 18-55 IS | 70-200 F4 IS | 430EX

Your thinking is like me, I want to spend more time taking pictures then tinkering with the afterwards (that may change once I get the new camera). I would be interested in seeing a picture or two that you have straight from the camera in JPEG format to get an idea of what they look like. Thanks! The original pics are much larger and considerably sharper. For JPEG right from the camera I am very impressed and it makes me that much more eager to pick up my XSi camera tomorrow!!!!

Yep, no editing or anything! Simply resized to 1024x... and compressed it to make it small enough to upload on this forum. The PQ of the true original JPEGs will blow you away...
