I checked the online stores and the 50D (body only) was down $100 to $1,299 at most places this morning. Pulled the trigger at Adorama. Only extra was the Eyepiece Externder (EP-EX15II) as I don't like my greasy nose rubbing the screen. :D

I have a cheap Chinese grip that never seemed to work on my 20D. I'll try it on the 50D and if it still doesn't work, I'll get one of those.

Anyone try Adorama's Flashpoint grip? It's 1/2 the price of the Canon one.

Welcome to my club. I am also waiting, not too patiently, for a 50D to arrive. I ordered it last Thursday from Henrys of Canada. I also use the eye extender, but have one from my old 20D that I will keep. (the 20D is sold.) I am sure I will find it to be better than that review on that other forum says it is.

Please speak slowly and distinctly. I have a wife and a computer, I don't need any more confusion in my life.

I wanted to be a nude photographer, but when I went outside naked, everyone pointed and laughed, so I gave it up.

It is a very nice camera, better then the 40D IMHO. Most of the people who are complaining don't have the camera. Enjoy it. It is really a fine instrument

stepped up from a 20D..... 50D came today. very cool camera. solid piece of hardware.
can not wait to get out and get some shots....

love the flexibility in the software...

pleasant surprise .... found out that my 85f1.8 was forward focusing on the 20D ... bring in the 50D: micro adjusted and now good to go.
came w/ latest firmware installed.....

have fun w/ your new toy..... its a keeper

I'm on DSLR number four, and I couldn't be happier with my 50d. I do photography full-time to make my living and just haven't seen the cost/benefit ratio to go full-frame -- and I do portraiture and some commercial work. My clients keep paying, so the equipment decisions must be working out.

Got one at the weekend, haven't really had a chance to use it yet, but am offski on tour following one of my favourite bands around at the end of the week and am shooting about 6 or 7 of the gigs so it'll get some serious use.

Am loving it so far though.

I hope I can afford a 50D after christmas or buy a 40D today. Mmm I wait so my 70-200 f4L IS lens will sleep a little more! ;)

I got a 50mm 1,8 for free after a bet with my friend. :D

Microadjustment will fun too try.
