i am not sure what i can get for it lol...

I am planning on getting the 50mm f/1.8 from amazon for $85 free shipping if i cant find anything else.

I would like a sigma 70-300mm APO macro lens or canon 55-250mm IS lens but i know that 100 wont cut it.

Do you guys have any suggestions on good used lenses for this much or should i just stick with nifty?

I've got a Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6 APO DG macro lens I'd sell for $100 firm. Comes with a free UV filter. You add shipping and Paypal fees and it's yours. 9/10 condition with box, case and a couple of papers in the box. When I broke into the L series lenses I boxed it and haven't used it since. I paid 279.99 +tax for the lens (here locally) when it was new. Here's a link to pics: http://tkoutdoor.zenfolio.com/p237867480/ (external link) I have perfect feedback on eBay as "tkoutdoor" and I've bought/sold 3 items here.

Good deal if you don't have the 70-300 range and aren't going to be buying L series in the future.

i actually ordered a 50mm and iam planning on saving for the 55-250mm IS.

Do you guys think $75 for a used battery grip is ok? im not sure how used yet but if it was in good condition? What would make you turn away from this deal? Found it on craigslist

if you have that little money, don't go wasting it on a stupid battery grip ;) save for your other lenses.

i know i might get flamed for this but my advice on the 55-250 would be to wait, save up more cash, and just get the 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM since it is IMO one of the best non-L long range lenses canon makes. excluding primes of course.

If you shoot a lot in portrait orientation, the battery grip is a good investment. The fact it holds an extra battery is just a bonus.

It's also nice for those of us with........... big hands.

Canon 20D w/grip, 300D, Powershot SX100 w/HF-DC1 flash, Canon 70-200 f/2.8L, 85 f/1.8, 17-55 f/2.8 IS, 50 f/1.8, 580EX and some other stuff...
