I am upgrading from a 30D and after just playing with it last night I can see that it is a huge step up from the 30D. The LCD is amazing and the auto focus is great. I also like the live view and this will be useful in crowd situations. I am going to try it out this weekend and I will post some shots next week.

I just traded in my 30D for a 50D also. I have not been able to really use it yet but so far, I am impressed. The new menu setup is very nice. The LCD is a very much needed update!!! I tested out the higher ISO handling in the store and was very pleased.

Enjoy your new purchase!!!

Just sold my 30D and ordered a 50D from BH this afternoon.

Can't wait to test this sucker out at some sporting events and really put it through its paces ASAP.

I've only had mine for a day, so I've merely had a chance to set it up... I upgraded from the 20D... so the change is awesome... wow... I'm looking forward to a reasonably long and happy partnership. I will likely upgrade again at some point in the future...

I just upgraded from a 300D (bought back in 2003) to a 50D. I am extremely happy with the purchase. Along with all the things the others have said, I also am loving the high-res 3" screen. The 50D is simply excellent.

I used the 50D over the weekend and shot a few hundred shots with it and all I can say is I am very impressed! The menus are much better designed then on the 30D. The LCD is amazing and the zoom function makes checking focus on a shot possible. The metering seems more accurate than on my 30D. So far I am very pleased and I would recommend this camera to anyone who has one of the older xxD series.

Ya know, funny thing about that LCD. When I upgraded the LCD was so low on the list of features I considered that I pretty much ignored it. But now using the camera the LCD is really significantly better and one of the main things I love about this camera.
