Indoor Shot Suggestions

I have a wedding coming up in December and expect it will be too cold to spend a lot of time outside for candids before the reception. Any suggestions for off the cuff candids/group shots done indoors?

I've written some info in posts 19, 21, 23 & 24 that you may find helpful. I assume that Quantum of yours is the flash unit? You will need it especially for the groups. Let us know if you have some specific questions - you cast a pretty brooad net Here is a proof gallery of a wedding I did a couple of months ago. It may give you some ideas.

Thanks, Stu. I understand what settings/equipment I'll need to use, I was looking more for suggestions for poses or sample images indoors. I usually shoot the pre-ceremony candids at a park or the beach where obviously, there's more room for "jump shots" and stuff like that. I'm thinking along the lines of Toogy style shots, etc.

My one tip: the day is about emotion, not set shots. The focus should be on how the bride and groom feel about each other, your job is to make them feel comfortable to express this emotion, and to capture it. It's hard. It takes practice. Where you are makes little difference, really. Some situations take more imagination, and more lighting skill and equipment, but you can make good images anywhere. Focus on the emotion and how you encourage the expression of the emotion and you won't go wrong.
