Have you seen this comparison here?

I must say I was quite a bit disappointed with the performance of the 5d against the 1d. Its images look less sharp and quite a bit less saturated. I hope it's simply user error.

There's a reason for the $5,000 price difference between the two.

It's more likely the RAW converter used. The sensor are the same, except that Canon has said that since the 5D MKII uses a DiG!C 4 Processor and some other small changes, that the IQ will actually be slightly better on the 5D MKII than the 1Ds MKIII

I will second this. The 5d only got preliminary support in ACR two or three days ago, and it'll take some time for people to get conversion down right.

I don't hate macs or OSX, I hate people and statements that portray them as better than anything else. Macs are A solution, not THE solution. Get a good desktop i7 with Windows 7 and come tell me that sucks for photo or video editing.

The P25 hasn't come off to well against the two smaller-format cameras :o

glad I wasn't the only one to think the P25 wasn't that great compared to the Canon's.

5D mk2 looking a little soft, post processing? most probably.
