edit: exif is contained in the image - Mark IIn, f14, ISO 400, 1/125 - 50mm + 68mm Kenko tubes extension. 430ex flash mounted on hotshoe with Sto-fen diffuser. FEC probably -1/3 or 0 from memory (since EXIF doesn't state it)

COOL, how fun...everyone did a really nice job. From a roll of the dice to spirls to feathers to all the colors in the rainbow (what was that from?) to feathers. John made my day...my two personal favorites were the genodm's peacock feather and Lyshk0's spiral (is that a spring?)

And to explain the title and nope, not a porno title...ya naughty folks you! :p ...it was a clue to what the actual item was/is...it is the top of a thimble. Hence the "Gotta Block those Leetle Pricks". After all those needles are sharp. Here is a shot of the whole thing:

If anyone is interested, it's a ca. 1880-ish 14k gold thimble. I have always liked the pattern of these things. If you notice the macro shot showed the thing still has dirt in the dimples. At first I was going to clean it and re-shoot but then I decided I liked it there.

I promised John I will come up with a new topic later this evening...so I'll be back later today. ;)

Dave....I just looked at what your shot is from. Nice!! Don Quixote is one of my favorite stories/characters. The silly books have a lot to offer us about life, much of which is very easy to forget these days. You are right the gilding is amazing on that cover. You simply do not find that sort of craftsmanship anymore. What a nice treasure for your collection.
