A while back I ask this forum about AA batteries for my equipment. The overall choice seemed to be Eneloop. I am ready to purchase and I was wondering if there was a best choice place to buy? I need charger and batteries.

you just missed a great promotion @ costco on a eneloop kit. Even at their everyday prices it's still a bargain.

8 AA
4 AAA
C & D adapters and a charger

in NY it's curretnly about $29 - the promotion was an instant $9 off coupon

Bought 3 packages on that promotion. Felt like I was stealing.

I've been buying from thomasdistributing.com for several years now. Great online retailer of batteries and accessories. Very good prices and selection.

Buy them at Costco. If a year later and it stops working ( some rechargeable batteries may quit), you can just bring them back and get them replaced. No questions ask.

The two recommended are great places to buy then. I personally bought it at thomasdistributing because they had a great deal with the La Crosse BC-900 battery charger.

+1 for buying anything from Thomas Distributing, and I have the Imedions as well and they perform very well. I have some PowerEx NiMH that I don't even use anymore. It's Imedions for me now.

question: do you have to wait until the batteries are almost drained to recharge them? or can you topp them off?

With NiMH you don't want to fully discharge them. They are most comfortable kept at median levels (20-80% or so).

Is Sanyo Eneloops best suited for 580 EX II? Any suggestions on the mAH levels? Which ones can give the longest life on single charge?
