I haven't gotten out to shoot new material so I just have to work with what I've got....

Shot in Raw, exported from lightroom as srgb Jpeg with 0% sharpening, clarity and noise reduction. Used Noise Ninja in Photoshop as well as onOne portrait sharpening.

Well, I've deepfried two turkeys so far with great results. The only safety equipment on hand was "my legs"...heh heh. Just have to pretty much be concious of your every move and watch the temps real close. Don't wander off chatting with somebody while your bird gets launched into orbit.

I hear that it's very tasty when cooked that way. Does it get a bit greasy compared to a regular oven cooked bird?

Not greasy....oily. The frst turkey (Thanksgiving 2008 -) was cooked in Cottonseed oil. The second was cooked in Peanut oil. But the oiliness is mainly on the outside. It doesn't really have a greasy texture inside.....just a moist "falling off the bones like BBQ ribs" kind of texture. Out of the two oils, Peanut oil tasted the best. Yup....I funneled the used oil back into the jugs in hopes of getting another bird out of it. It's like $14 a gallon and it takes 3 gallons.

Just make sure you don't put a frozen turkey in as it will cause the oil to spill out of the container. This will lead to a big flame. Oil and water don't mix.

I had to cook something in peanut oil years ago, and basically saved the oil for future use, but eventually it got thrown out. Thanks for the lesson & I hope you have a great meal. Happy New Year. Larry.
