I have a buddy who dislikes country music and labels it 'Kiss Your Horse Music'

Apparently if you play country songs backwards, You get your job back, your wife/girl/man/ leaves their lover and comes back to you...... and your dog un-dies :-)

Like I said, most stuff that gets played on modern Country stations today I'd classify somewhere under a different genre. Just because the station plays it, that doesn't make it Country...

I concur. Most of the music that comes from a country singer has picked up a faster, more hip hop sound to it...kinda bleh with me. Shoot, even that Rucker guy from Hootie and the Blowfish is a country singer now.

Being on the Grey's Anatomy soundtrack is one of the best ways for new artists to get discoved now.

Yep...but getting selected to be on the CD is the hard part.

 I like country music...mainly the older stuff...but it has gotten kinda bland in the past. The same thing sung about...always my wife/dog/horse left me or similar.

Now, this (external link) is Country! (You gotta stick around for the last verse...)

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

I'll give Darius Rucker a partial pass. His country music is OK but he is a supremely talented artist.

Gotta love David Allen Coe. That's real country right there.

BTW...why are you linking YouTube Canada? Work internet here is trying to block it.

That is "Classic" country. First line of the last verse made me spit coffee.....

I agree about him being a great artist. Though, I've only heard that one song that the radio plays over, and over and over and over and over and over, Don't Think I Don't Think....I think is what it's called.

Good question. I'm home, so it ain't a work thing. I've noticed my YouTube links get weird like that sometimes. I probably followed a link someone posted in here recently that pointed to Canada and it set a cookie or something...

Oops. I misread... Your work network is blocking it? Weird.

 Or you moved to Canada and didn't know it.

Work network is trying to block it. Won't let the flash load. The page is all screwed up.....instead of the video on the left and similar selections on the right with a scroll bar....all the videos are listed straight down with the main video down a ways. Not blocked entirely....the normal YouTube.com pages load normal.

*you all didn't see me post this.....I'm working, honest*
