I'm not sure if people are spending very conservatively nowadays, or if the Rebel XT is something no one wants anymore or if I'm simply asking too much.

I'm asking $320 for a great condition Rebel XT with the BG-E3 grip and the RS-60E3 wired release and no one is even interested? Am I asking too much? I was under the impression it was a fair price!

No, they're not obsolete. Newer models with more features are on the market but the XT is still a darn good camera.

I don't know about the price. I would search the B&S forums on this website as well as places like Fred Miranda's site and even eBay to see what the going prices for similar cameras are. That might give you a better idea of what to ask for it or if your price is in line.

Maybe with the economy in the toilet as it is at the moment there's not a lot of buyers out there. Also, the Christmas season has just passed and you might have missed an opportunity to sell it to someone looking to pick up a present.

At any rate, good luck.!!

You can still by them brand new...would a bad economy maybe have some bearing on the fact that no one is biting..a dslr is a want not a need...someting most people buy when they have extra money...I dont know to many right now with extra money;)

it's a decent price, but with prices going lower and lower on entry pro-level cameras, people can afford them and forget about the good ol xt.

I bought a silver one about a year ago for $355 no grip. You have a decent price. But I think it probably doesn't help that you're competing against XS, XSi and XTi buyers.

Also, the forums don't help. People see others with all the newest gear, they are less interested in an older model. Just my thoughts.

Doesn't help that some main line retailers were clearing out their inventory around Christmas, Office Max had XT's for $299.

60D, Canon 18-135 IS, Sigma 10-20 hsm, 24-70 2.8 hsm, 70-200 2.8 hsm, 430EX II, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.

The market is tough - I think Canon Canada had an XS kit for $349 (Can)
I've seen some 20D and even one 30D go for around the same price or a few bucks more ($300-400). I think it's a fair price (in Canadian dollars), try some more marketing in your ad perhaps?
I think when someone can get a brand new/refurb camera for about the same price they'll go for it. If on the other hand, the used one is a far superior camera, then it's more likely to sell...

I have a photographic memory, just wish I'd remember to take the lens cap off more often!

Considering 20D's and even 30D's are around $300-$400. It maybe a bit much considering. I keep pondering on getting an XT but I don't want to settle. I really liked the XT. It was quite awesome. I hate the totally reliant screen to change settings. If I get a computer over a 40D I'll get an XT I'm sure and then when I get the 40D my XT can be converted to IR.

I suggest you sell the items separately.

Sell the cable release for somewhere around $15, one battery and the grip for around $80-90, then see if somebody wants the XT w/extra battery for $200. If you break these up into lower priced mini-packages, chances are you will find somebody to buy these.

On the flip side, if you can find a kit lens for $40, pick it up and add it to the package accordingly at about $340 or so, and see if you can sell that package.

The grip could go for $100 or $110 like they have been. It's not just for the XT. You'll actually get more selling it separate. I know of friend looking for a DSLR. I'll let him know about this.

Let us also consider the season. Christmas has just passed and the Canon rebates are not over yet. Actually I imagine this is a busy time for Canon the rebates end on the 17th.
Your price seems very fair to me. If I were you i would hold on a little bit. People are going to start getting ICT refunds soon and you should be mailing this out then. I would not drop the price any just hang loose :D
