In searching for a hot shoe adapter... I couldnt' find one that looks like it would be the right one. i keep seeing ones that look like this, but the end of this cord doesn't look like the end of the cord in the square perfect picture:

can someone find the right hot shoe adapter for me???? thanks.

That's for one of those older flashes that use 250v triggers.

I think this is what you need http://flashzebra.com/hotshoes-shoes/0065.shtml (external link)

Doesn't the 285HV have an input?

dan

Wrong hotshoe adapter

The hole in the adapter you have there doesn't look like it fits the prong from the square perfect cord... still confused...

and what do you mean by "input"? All I see on my 285hv is a socket for an external power source and a small hole for the shutter sync cord (which ppl seem to be saying is only necessary if my camera didn't have a shoe???).

The 285HV has a port, as dpds68 showed. You don't need a hotshoe adapter.

The larger silver item is a converter for a larger port. Like using an old stereos with a new headset.

that cord that comes with the 285hv... which end is suppose to go into that port? is it the sharp end or the other end?

i want to note that the sharp end doesn't seem to fit all the way and the other end doesn't fit at all...
