Was in a decent Canon camera stockist today, chatting about the price rises that came into effect a couple of weeks ago. He said that there is another price rise scheduled for Febuary :shock:

May just have been trying to get me to buy something, but he seemed pretty straight.

Man Oh Man if this is true its a bad time to be buying expensive glass:(

Maybe Canon are trying to put themselves out of business or something.

It seems a strange time to be repeatedly raising prices when the world looks as if it is about to end.

canon have no choice, its the money markets and exchange rates that force their hand, if they didnt raise prices they would be selling to retaillers at a loss.

I just called to Calumet(UK) and sales person warned me that prices will increase between 10 to 15% again in coming monday...
