I know a lot of you use the Pelican 1510 case when you travel. Have any of you put the 300mm f2.8 IS in it? Does it fit okay? I have a trip to Churchill this October to see the polar bears and I need to get a hard case to carry on the various flights. I'm also taking my 30D, 24-105L, 100-400, 1.4X & 2X with me.

It's pretty roomy, but the 300 is huge. I wish I had one. :) I do have the 1510, though. :)

Thanks! Your kit is almost the same as mine in sizes. Thanks for the photos. How do you like the lid pack? It looks like it holds a lot of cards, batteries , cables, etc

The lid pack is great. It keeps all the small parts from getting lost and a mess.
I just added a Domke F2 to my collection. It is really nice for hauling limited gear to different locations.
My 1510 now is used for long trips and storage when I need to take the 300mm
BTW I ordered the 1514 which includes the padded dividers.

I took a 300 2.8, 70-200 2.8, 16-35 2.8, 2 bodies, flash, and some small extras all in a 1510 all on an assignment over New Years. It fit pretty well, and worked really well.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks to everyone for their great info. :) I ordered a 1514 with a lid organizer last night. :D BTW I ordered mine from Boss Safety Products and got it for just under $200. If you live some place other that California and order from Boss you might get it for less than $190( if you don't have to pat the sales tax).

Nope I don't work for Boss. I did an extensive search for the best price and it always came back to Boss. I bought safety equipment from them before and they are reliable
