Is it worth the price difference?

So my ongoing battle to decide on new strobes continues I am trying to decide between these two kits, they seem fairly similar in spec and both can take the same modifiers so I am wondering is it worth the almost $400 price difference I know that Elinchrom is considered higher end and Calumet more budget but in real world use will there be much of a difference? I would love to get opinions from owners of each or both thanks for all your help.

Be warned, not sure if this is 100% confirmed but Calumet might be on their way out too this year.

That being said, I still would opt for the Elinchrom Style 400BX kit.

Elysium, where did you hear that. There are a couple Calumets here in Chicago, only decent store around really. I would hate to see them go.

While I know that Profoto is up there in the strobe hierarchy these are $400 more than the Elinchrome and don't seem to have as fine of control over output. Other than 200ws more output what is it that makes these a better choice than the Elinchrome's?

Add to cart to see they are $1089.95. So yes, off, but actually less than $100 difference of the $995 Elinchrom 400BX. I love my 400BX for what it is worth.

The powerpack / heads are, but the monolights aren't IMO.

A plus for the Profoto strobes is the reflector mounting kit that can be moved foreward and back along the strobe. A plus for the Elinchrom is the ability to use their deflectors to get more even light coverage.
