You may or may not believe this so I have included pics.

My sister called me and said to go to Circuit city (as they are going out of business) and check out the lenses, so I did. What I found was their last 100mm macro f2.8 for 272 US Dollars before taxes. This was their mandatory display item and was never even out of the box! I got this almost 500 Dollar lens for under 300!!! The mounting surfaces have no signs what-so-ever of haveing ever been mounted and the glass is spotless. If they had anymore I would've have bought every single one Mr Amercian Express would have let me.....

I asked the guy about new shipments and he said to come in every couple of days to check as the wharehouses are shipping items out to stores almost randomly. I will be back in there every day to check until they go out of bussiness for good.

So please get out there!!!!! It's worth a try!!
I would love to hear that at least one other person on here got a deal!!!!

Tommy

I would probably snap up either a 100mm Macro or 430Ex flash.

But it seems my Circuit city was cleared out of Canon gear long ago (during their lame 10% period).

Thanks guys .... Like I stated they are randomly getting left over inventory and that's what this was. I am super excited about this...... Almost as happy as the day I got my S2K!! (Yes they rock!!)

Let's just make sure we are checking every once in a while... I didn't even think to check for flash.... Dang it!!!

Haha, I just love that slogan on the receipt "We're With You!" - NOT ANY MORE! :)

Stopped into CC couple times a week now and found no deals. Love to get a 430 EX but they are always out here in Chicago.

Funny thing about camera gear - I would practically buy anything decent at half the price, even though I weren't in the market for it. What a crazy hobby!

I stopped by four CCs today and another three that had already closed their doors. No sign of Canon SLR gear, but there were stacks of Nikkor lenses going begging. :p

*sigh*

Check the 20+ page "Any Deals?" thread for Circuit City info. 430 EX and Macros are the best deals currently, and just to restate this:

NO MORE SHIPMENTS ARE COMING TO ANY CIRCUIT CITY STORE. Whats there is whats there, unless its from another local store (Which should've stopped by now)
I don't know who Tommy talked to, but the Orlando Distribution center for CC (Which is the only one that services florida) has been empty for about two weeks.
