My Tamron 18-200. The first lens I purchased. I'm happy with it.

Does anyone have pictures of the Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95? (That they have taken themselves of course)

Here's a couple of lenses that were really cheap but I found useful.

The Kitstar 28mm f/2.8 and 35mm f/2.8. These are M42 mount and together cost about $20.00 including one Kitstar coated filter and one original cap. I used these as faster normal lenses with an M42 adapter on my Rebel XT when I only had the 18-55 kit lens in that range until I got proper Canon primes.

Now I mount them in reverse on the camera for macro with an EF mount to filter thread reverse adapter. The aperture can be preset and turning the A/M ring stops down after setting the focus distance and composing at full aperture. Unfortunately they only stop down to f/16. I would prefer f/22 for such high magnifications to get a bit more depth of field.

Mounted in reverse, the 35mm lens produces a magnification of about 1.7:1. The 28mm lens produces about 2.4:1 both with a reasonable working distance. Extension tubes between the camera and the reversed lens will allow a bit more magnification if more is desired but at the expense of light and working distance.
