if you dont mind me asking, what were your parameters? its blowing my mind that this can be done w/o hooking into the strobe with a 55-250 at f/5.6.

Says in the exif 250mm, f/5.6, iso 800, 1/320s...


Just wanna post this as an example of the 55-250 as a BIF lens... I know it's not the best choice (there are longer and sharper and better lenses out there), but it does an ok job. Basically, what i regret is the slow focus of it combined with the 400D still, you can see the birds eye pretty well and for a first bif attempt, its not that bad (i hope )

Thanks! This was my first time shooting horses (first time at Santa Anita Park).

What's weird is I've ridden horses before (not often but it's not like I've never seen them up close), yet when I was @ Santa Anita, the grandeur of the place, the track and all its history, and the horses doing their warm up runs dashing by. There was a certain rush, a sensation of awe just by standing so close to such powerful, majestic animals.
