Hi everyone,

I've only had my Xsi/450D a couple of weeks and decided to add the 55-250 to my kit, based on the images people posted here. I am so so pleased with it! Thanks! Here's one of captures on my first day shooting with it around the garden at home!

Thanks ufauxreal,

I thank Xsi/450D for Dummies for the lesson in DOF! DOF preview is a great tool to have! Something I never quite got the hang of with 35mm!

I've noticed however that this lens "hunts" about a bit when trying to auto focus sometimes. I tried to take a pic of a toad under the water and the lens went bananas! I ended up with a lovely capture of a tree branch reflection!Crystal clear???

Kanonshooter - I get a lovely sense of urgency from your photo! Thats something I always get from snowy pic's. I hope you've got good thermals! Looks cooooold where you are!

With the aid of my new Giottos Pro Tripod! Love the Bokeh I'm getting with the lens!

I know how to use Photoshop for nearly everything! I just can't work out to do a 100% crop! I guess its staring me in the face, but I'm just being a bit dim!! Anyone know a link to a tutorial?

This is how I would do it: set the magnification to 100% so you are viewing the image at a 1:1 pixel ratio.

Once that's done, grap your crop tool and set the crop ratio to whatever you want (800x600 px, etc.) and crop away! Then save the file after the crop.

Make sense?

this was hand-held because the moon was too high in the sky for my tripod. also my first ever attempt at shooting the moon.
