The obvious: lots of noise from the high ISO. bit of a green tint, underexposed at least half a stop and motion blur from the slow shutter speed. On the plus side you have the face and lots of folks like the motion blur of the bat. Some levels and hues adjustments and noise reduction will give you a decent print. Wrap your ass in fiberglass.... You're only young once but you can be immature the rest of your life

Judging by the angle I am assuming that you were between third and home so your distance from the player isn't to far away. The distance that you lose from removing the extender can easily be regained by cropping in photoshop. Also the color is slightly blue/green which can be corrected fine if shot in raw.

Everyone thank you for the comments. I was looking for confirmation to the comments I made to my wife about the pic. This was the 1st time to use the extender at night and was testing the waters to see if it was violable solution to get more reach across the diamond. 1D MKIII, 20D, BG-E2 Battery Grip, 24-70 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L IS, 400 5.6L, EF 1.4X II, EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, 580EX Speedlite

I’m trying to stimulate the economy by getting the approval for a 300 2.8. Yes, the netting was touching the lens hood. Thanks Well good luck on your attempt to "help the economy." I must say that I feel so much better to have gone from the point of asking questions all the time to being able to offer advice that people agree with. Definitely made my day. Now to go do homework...

Having rented a 300 2.8 and gotten some of my sharpest, bokkeh-est, bestest sports shots ever, I am jonesing for my own copy in a bad way. I just can't seem to work up the courage to broach the subject with Mrs. Xn2b8r. I guess I'm afraid of having to give up the dream. _______________
