I think I will be allowed to shoot my first fashion show. Does anyone have any tips for doing an event like this? Maybe lighting and preferred seating ideas? Also should I get a release from the people running the event or try to get individual model releases?

thanks any replies....

Hopefully the place will be well lit, but bring along your own strobes. SB-900 or 580EXII or similar will do fine. You want to be near the end of the runway to shoot them coming towards you ideally, as close in-line with the runway as possible.

Why are model releases required? What are you planning on doing with the photos?

Thanks for the reply and suggestions.
I would be using the images mostly for my portfolio. Anytime I shoot I try to get a release to avoid any problems.
