I don't know about those, but the fake Rolexes in Malaysia are infamous for only lasting a year or so. They're sold by street vendors for practically nothing. By the way, where in Malaysia were you? I usually go to Penang.

I bought my watches(Tag, Omega, RADO) at Petaling Street in KL. US$5 each but outperforms the watches from Wal-mart.

Yup, same model, 50mm f1.8 II. But if you were to choose between the two, which one would you get? For me if its Canon, it should come from Japan.

Thanks.

Where are these two lenses listed for sale, I'm intrigued.

I saw them at a local store here in the Philippines. The store owner says all consumer lenses will soon be manufactured in Malaysia and it has started with the 50mm F1.8 II. But all pro-lenses such as the L's are still manufactured in Japan.

If I remember correctly, in the US market, all "plastic" lenses (50 1.8, 18-55, 10-22(?), etc) are all manufactured in Malaysia while all the "metal" lenses are made in Japan.
