How do you load more than one image in CS4?

I am wanting to try to merge 2 photos in CS4. I just need to know how to get more than one photo to load into the layers section so that I can work with both of them at the same time. Does anyone know how? Thanks

Have both images open. Select the move tool, hold down the {shift} key and drag over to the other image while holding the {shift} key. Release and it should be on its own layer.

Or select all, copy, and then paste into other image.

An alternate method: Files/Scripts/Load files into stack.
