I was in yesterday and it was still 30% in my area. For those of you looking for a P&S, they had tons of Canon IS990's at my store. Yours might too. I ended up going to Best Buy and getting an IS880.

Cameras:
Canon Rebel XSi: 18-55mm kit, 50mm f/1.4, 70-200mm 2.8 L IS, 24-105mm L IS, 70-300mm 4.5 IS

I have never, ever walked into a Circuit City. I wonder if that is why they are going out of business? Heck I have never walked into B&H and bought lots of chit from them. Hummm......deep thinking going on here.

From our internal board:

Cust: "So why's Circuit City goin' out of business?"
Emp: "Well, is this your first time shopping with us?"
Cust: "Er, yeah"
Emp: *blank stare*
Cust: "ooh....."

The price difference between the IS880 and the SD990 is small enough to warrant the purchase, too bad you decided to skip.
(Oh, and CC had the 880 on clearance for about $100 less than BB before all this)
=)

Too late now! I love the IS880 though. Great camera. I did some research before I bought it and the reviews seemed to be better for the 880 vs the 990.

Yea I heard a sales guy tell a lady that the prices were high because they take the discount % off of the full retail price.

There was still a 50D at Morse Road last Thursday, but it was a display and was $959 with lens. Too late now though.
