I bite the bullet and bought the 5DMK2 from CALUMET on Wednesday and received it today, lo and behold when I check my bank account (use debit card for purchase) and found out that they charged my card TWICE for the camera $5260 total, now my bank account is overdrawn and get hit with a $70 overdraft fees, WTF?? Anybody bought anything from Calumet and have this happened to you before?

contact them and let them know about it and the $70 overdraft fees, if they don't agree to credit you with the 2nd charged and the $70 as well, I would talk to your bank.

Better call the bank and tell them what happened, they should drop the overdraft fee.

A similar case has happened to me as well when I ordered my MBP from Apple's online store. They charged me from their Sydney online store but because it was being shipped from Singapore, the Singapore branch also charged me.

Talk to the dealer and bank immediately.

$70 for overdraft??? sound like you got screwed by both Calumet and your bank.

Some stuff that says "Canon" on it and a happy trigger finger.

2nd , call CALUMET and tell them to send another bill with RMA number . You have notified the bank

They're a reputable place, I've ordered things from there and bought things in person at their Boston and Chicago stores for years. They're one of the top national camera store franchises in the country for professional gear. I'm sure the store will rectify the mistake.

Ok I just got off the phone with my bank (Wachovia), they told me that the 1st $2730 charge was being put on hold from my account first to see if there is sufficient fund in my account, then the 2nd $2730 charge is then authorized to be withdrawn from my account, somehow the 2nd charge went through yesterday but the 1st charge instead of expired by itself somehow it went through this morning, as a result I'm being charged TWICE, son of a.....
Luckily the bank representative said he would take care of it tomorrow(i hope he does dammit) and waive the $70 overdraft fees. man I have ordered over $15K of gear from BH in the past and never ran into this kind of problem before...

Your bank is the problem. Jeez at least use a credit card so you can score rewards and an extra year on the warranty ;)

This is exactly why I NEVER use debit cards. I have an ATM card and that's the only access I ever need to my bank account. I worked as a teller for 3 years. I learned from everyone else's misfortunes.
