I use my G10 as a walkaround when the dslr is not needed. Its great. I try and make myself process all the images in PS instead of LR just to keep my knowledge of PS up to scratch.

G9 has been to China, Monument Valley, Canyon De Chelly along with that 5D Mk2...I do like the G9...built like a tank I noticed that with the G10.. I didn't have a long play with it but it sure felt nice in my hands.. Jurgen

I was very impressed with it's handling.. For me it would be a great little camera to have handy when I don't want to take my DSLR kit.. Talk me out of buying one.. It's a great camera for what it is. Don't expect too much from it speed wise or in low light situations. It's a fantastic landscape camera. I love mine. It travels with me everwhere.

I bought one and put a ton of shots on it-- I carried it with me on my travels through a whirlwind trip across the states--- I was not happy with the noise...... for me a little too much noise in low light -- it was decent but not fantastic-- for $400 I was expecting a little more. I also thought it to be pretty heavy for a little camera. Scott

I also thought it to be pretty heavy for a little camera. Now I carry a 1DII and 70-200 2.8 IS--- so when I carry a small camera I expect it to be a little lighter and take photos with a bit less noise. For me anything over 400 with the G10 was a bit noisy. Also for me-- it was a little hard to hold-- not much to grab onto-- but that could just be my hands. Sorry to add any negative against the G10 but it really did not work for me. Noise is deffinately an issue. I really only use mine outside for that reason and its splendid. I agree, if you want decent low light shooting then it may not be for you. : Follow on Twitter
