picked up a 1d this past week and was able to get a few at my sons game. first shot is my 7 year old on the mound, second shot is his teammate at the plate. i think once i figure this camera out i am really going to like it. all the way up until i get a MKII. cc is always welcome and tolerated.

He/She has a few telephotos! I agree on the closer part though.

A little off topic but I think the first photo is a neat example of focal plane. Batter oof pitcher in focus and coach/ump oof.

I'd work a slightly different angle for pictures at the mound. Yes the coach is out of focus, but he is way too close behind and is wearing the same color as your son. Big distraction for me because it makes them blend together a little bit.
