3 years ago my Sister in laws husband asked if I wanted to take a ride on the ship he was assigned to. Took a day cruise from Norfolk a few miles off shore and they put on a air show for us.

Taken with a Fujifilm s5000 and not great pic's at all, but wow...We were standing on the cat walk off the bow of the ship watching them take off...

Thanks.. It was to be the last F-14 carrier launch from the Truman before they retired them, but it broke and came back in with us...

They also did 2 sound barried runs and shook the ship good..
