Add a 50 f/1.8 II to that, and you've got a good set of lenses that should serve you well. And if you got those two for under $400 for both of them, you did ok.

The price for both was $325.00 but I think OTECK stepped on my toes because I had hoped to do some gym shots with the 55/250. I know I probably need a 200 f2.8 for inside but right now and for the near future it is way out of my range.

I appreciate all the replies and I will look at the 50/1.8

Edit: I just found out the 18/55 is a kit lens from a XTI purchased 2 weeks ago.

Pay attention to whether the 18-55 has IS or not. Word around here is the IS has better optics and I think IS is a nice feature.

At $325 for both of those, that's a decent price. I've seen the 18-55 IS on here for $115 - $125, and the 55-250 for ~$225. Keep in mind, that you can get both of them new from Amazon for $400. The 70-200 f/2.8 non-IS will probably be my next lens. But I won't need it until next winter, so I have some time to save for it. I've thought about the f/4 IS version, but for indoor sports, the IS isn't really going to help much.

/edit/ If this hasn't sold yet, you should snap this up.

Sorry it took so long to reply but I've been out. Ater seeing the lens I found that his view of excellent condition did not meet mine.

I'll continue to look and save .
