I heard that Canon has added a new speedlight called the 270EX. It is supposed to be tiltable. I'm not sure of the power, price or anything else.

and will somebody confirm the price of this??

Buddy of mine said he got the pre-release version (expected release for MAY ?), for 200 USD.

Who will be the first to post the price??

Finally, a flash that can tilt bounce and size appropriate for the G10. Why didn't they make one sooner!

I think that price is probably wrong. According to the press release, the 270EX is supposed to replace the 220EX. Based on that, my guess is that the new 270EX will be priced comparably to the current 220EX (about $125). Also, Canon's website says the new flash will be released in April 2009.

Thats exactly what i thought, if it is supposed to replace the the 220ex (MSRP:125)
it should be comparable in price as well, I sure hope that it gets marketed around that figure.

and we'll see what happens...
that would be nice if they kept it around $125, but if there holding its
release until April, they might be doing so b/c of the planned price increases

There are no manual controls on it, I think. Will the G9 be able to control it?
