Someone on ebay bought my 50 1.8 for more than the cost to buy one new from BH. That was a lens deal that amused me.

Less than $125 including shipping on eBay. In primo condition. One of my favorite lenses.

400mm f/5.6 Tokin ATX for $100 which I turned around and sold for $200.

I've missed out recently on a few amazing deals since starting to search for mispells and just on local trading sites, I missed out tonight on two mint 5D's for (less 5k shutter each) both gripped and 2-4batteries for $1100AUS each (approx $780 US) by half an hour on each, also missed out on a 135L for 420USD and a few weeks back I missed out on a mint cond 5D for $700US

I'm finally figuring out the right places to look and what to search for, now is to get my timing right. . . :D

I bought a 100 macro and a 580EXII in the US when the dollar was at its lowest :D

The best deal I got is actually my 50/1.4. My most used lens and the most shots (keepers) per $$ .

24-70L $780US
17-40L $470US
70-200 2.8 IS $1100US

And though I can't remember the exact prices, I got a great deal on 100-400 for a trip to africa, sold it when I got home and made $200, I felt like I got paid to rent it :)

Ebay is a great thing if you watch what you are doing, and stay patient. Most of the deals I got are ones that ended in the middle of the night. I set my highest price and woke up the morning to a great deal.

I've also bought alot of stuf at or maybe even slightly above used market pricing if I wanted it

My best deal to date has to be a lens I picked up last Tuesday. A near new Sigma 120-300 f2.8 (non-DG) and a sigma 1.4x Teleconverter for about 1100 USD. This is one stupidly sharp and versatile lens. I've shot 2 basketball games (out door) with it already and the results want to make me spit my coffee all over my monitor (in a good way).

Canon 5Dii, Sigma 24mm f1.8, Sigma 50mm f1.4, Sigma 85mm f1.4, Sigma 24-70 f2.8 EX Macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 Macro, Canon 135 f2L, Zenitar 16mm f2.8 fish eye (on the way)
A pile of ocf gear and modifiers.

I recently bought used 30d and efs10-22 for $400 :) Apparently, most local photographers don't see the need for a wide angle and seller was in hard place. :) My luck, I guess.
